NewSTEPs CQI 2021 National Meeting

This impactful virtual meeting by APHL brought together diverse newborn screening (NBS) stakeholders, member laboratories, and subject matter experts to share and discuss strategies for improving NBS systems and health outcomes of babies born in the United States. Attendees were greeted at the event lobby with a welcome video. The virtual lobby had 3D designs and was populated with diverse and animated avatars. The meeting had interactive panel sessions, keynotes and roundtable discussions. Attendees could also explore a poster hall to review the latest research on newborn screening and visit meeting booths in the exhibit hall. APHL also succeeded in keeping the audience engaged by offering a number of in-event games and activities. Attendees could win prizes by collecting points on the leaderboard, spin the wellness wheel for some activities, participate in a scavenger hunt and take pictures in a photo booth. APHL also incorporated a survey to get attendee feedback that could be used to improve future events.
