CIAA Virtual Vibe | Tournament Edition

The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) annually hosted its men’s and women’s basketball championship. Although no competition was to take place on the court, the conference saw an opportunity to uplift, educate and connect with student athletes, constituents, and fans! From this the virtual vibe was created; an action-packed week, full of resources such as wellness sessions in the auditorium. CIAA created a dynamic experience and gave its audience the feel of Baltimore with the cityscape and layout of the Convention Center. They also curated and hosted over 20 events throughout the week for engagement and opportunities to connect with the community. In took advantage of vFairs features such as exhibit halls to promote careers, education, a fan festival and more about Baltimore. Another auditorium was dedicated to “visit Baltimore”. The event was able to successfully capture additional audiences who may have not traveled in person. CIAA deserves to be acknowledged for its creativeness of its first virtual basketball tournament and making the most out of the opportunity!
