Women & Girls Leadership and Empowerment Conference

Georgia State University hosted an event to engage, empower, and equip community leaders with the knowledge and skills to amplify the voices of women and girls and propel them into key leadership roles in Africa and beyond. The university custom designed the event lobby to look like one of their own spaces. The virtual format brought together attendees from 41 countries including 30 countries in Africa. Attendees could explore keynotes, plenary sessions and panel sessions in the auditorium. During breaks, they could visit non-profit organizations in the exhibit hall and chat with booth representatives. The event was structured in a manner to create ample time for discussion and networking through breakout rooms and networking sessions. Attendees and exhibitors had an opportunity to learn from each other, develop collaborations and partnerships, and exhibit their non-profit organizations. The conference also had an excellent virtual environment with stunning 3D designs. Diverse animated avatars populated the virtual event.
